Stevia rebaudiana is a small plant native to South America, particularly to Paraguay.
The indigenous Guaranì population has been using this plant for centuries to sweeten their food preparations and have given it the name "Ka'a He'e" which means "sweet grass".
It is no coincidence that stevia is used by the food industry for the production of sweeteners that do not contain calories.
In Spain and South America stevia is also used for its many medicinal properties and in particular for the treatment of hypertension and diabetes.
It can be used to sweeten tea and herbal teas.
Use a teaspoon (or slightly more) for a cup of water. Add together with tea or herbal tea, then pour hot water and let stand for about 10 minutes (for herbal tea) and for about 3 minutes (for tea). Filter and drink.
It can also be used in combination with cold herbal infusions. In this case it is left to stand alone, or together with other herbs / roots / fruits, in water, at room temperature, for at least 6 hours.
Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool and dry place.
