Plantain is a perennial spontaneous plant very common and considered by most like a weed. It is very widespread in the countryside, along the edges of meadows and paths, in the hills and in the mountains.
In traditional medicine, plantain leaves are notoriously considered to be a blood depurative and an excellent natural remedy for the treatment of respiratory disorders.
In central Italy (Marche region) it is called “rabbit ears” because of its leaves, which were given to rabbits as both food and as a natural remedy to keep them healthy.
Currently, modern natural medicine makes extensive use of it, especially in cough syrups and phlegm, which are usually taken in winter, read on the label of these medicines and you will find out.
Infusion. Take a teaspoon of Plantain leaves for a cup of water. Bring the water to a boil, then turn off and pour the dried leaves, leaving them to infuse for 10 minutes. Filter and drink the hot herbal tea.
Drink 2 to 4 cups a day.
