The Goji berries of the Lycium Barbarum variety, grown in the Tibetan plateau of Qinghai, are by far considered the best, in terms of quantity and quality of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, enzymes, etc.), for the more generous size of the berries and for the taste, much sweeter, compared both to the other Goji variety (Lycium Chinense) and the same variety, but cultivated in other areas of China (such as the Ningxia province), or Mongolia.
The superior quality of the Goji plants cultivated in this area of Tibet, at 3,200 meters of altitude, is due to environmental characteristics unique to the world, such as the temperature difference between day and night, the uncontaminated air of these places and the streams of pure and crystalline water that flow directly from the highest peaks of the Himalayan mountain.
It is important to stress that the berries can be really healthy only if they are organically grown.
The selected Tibetan Goji berries come from controlled organic farming and are totally free of any toxic substances, such as pesticides, or sulphites.
To avoid any damage, the berries are hand-picked and then dried in the sun until they reach a moisture content lower than 13%.
