Dandelion is one of the most widespread plants in Europe. It grows wild in the pastures, in the woods, in the fields and in the gardens. It is easily distinguished by its yellow flowers and green, glabrous and serrated leaves.
In traditional medicine its leaves were used as herbal tea for the known diuretic and purifying properties.
For this reason it was used in cases of water retention, cellulitis and liver diseases.
Dandelion leaves also contain bitter principles that make it an excellent digestive herb, either eaten as a salad (or as a cooked vegetable), or as a herbal tea. The dandelion, always taken as a vegetable or herbal tea, is also used as a laxative plant, useful in case of constipation.
Infusion. Pour a teaspoon of dandelion leaves in a cup of boiling water for 10 minutes. Then filter and drink the hot or warm tea.
