Description
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Labiateae family. Its leaves, rich in essential oils, give off a delicate lemon scent when rubbed, for this reason it is also known as the "lemon plant".
We grow Melissa in a 100% natural way, without the aid of chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. The cultivation is Italian, on our land located in the Fermano countryside, in the Marche region.
The leaves are harvested in spring, before flowering, when the concentration of active principles in the leaves is highest. Harvesting is done manually. The leaves are subsequently dried in special shaded tunnels with controlled ventilation and temperature. In order to keep the active ingredients intact, the temperature never exceeds 43°.
Finally the leaves are shredded and packaged. Melissa's herbal tea is ready to be enjoyed. Its slightly lemony aromatic flavor will help you relax even during the most stressful days.
Usage tips
Infusion : pour a teaspoon of lemon balm into boiling water, cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Filter and drink the infusion. It is important, immediately after pouring the lemon balm into the boiling water, to cover it with a saucer or lid to prevent the essential oils from evaporating.
