Description

The Klamath microalgae ( Aphanizomenon flos aquae ) belongs to the large family of blue-green microalgae, the first form of life on the planet and the basis of the whole food chain and the same which also includes the more famous Spirulina.

However, the Spirulina that you find on the market today comes entirely from artificial cultivations in tanks, while Klamath is the only edible microalgae to grow wild in an almost uncontaminated volcanic environment: the upper Klamath lake in Oregon (USA) .

Klamath Lake is set in the Cascade Mountains Park, a protected natural area surrounded by volcanic mountains that have poured volcanic materials into Klamath Lake since time immemorial, the bottom of which, enriched by an enormous amount of bioavailable volcanic minerals, reaches up to 10 m high. Microalgae absorb these precious minerals from the water, supplying the complete spectrum of minerals and trace elements necessary for the human body in a synergistic and perfectly assimilable form.

Three hundred days of sunshine a year guarantee the algae great opportunities for photosynthesis; while, cold winters push them to produce a large amount of Omega 3 fatty acids (absent in Spirulina).

The Klamath contains:

  • between 65% and 70% of noble proteins;
  • 20 amino acids (of which all 8 essential amino acids);
  • the full spectrum of all naturally occurring minerals;
  • vitamin A, vitamin C, all B vitamins (including B12), vitamin E, vitamin H (biotin) and vitamin K;
  • polyunsaturated (Omega-3 and Omega-6) and monounsaturated (oleic acid) fatty acids;
  • numerous carotenoids (canthaxanthin, astaxanthin, zeaxanthin, lutein and lycopene);
  • chlorophyll: it is by far the food with the highest concentration;
  • apha-phycocyanins;
  • enzymes.

Usage tips

It is usually taken from 2 to 4 tablets a day with plenty of water.

Who can take it? Klamath can be taken at any age, both by children, adults and the elderly and can also be taken safely by pregnant and breastfeeding women..
